A brand-new office has no reviews yet, so here is exactly what happens instead.
Your first visit, step by step
Say hello
A short form at the front desk covering your medical history, medications and insurance. Two or three minutes.
A proper look
An exam of your teeth, gums, bite and the soft tissue in your mouth. Digital X-rays only where they are actually needed to see something.
The conversation
Dr. Malik walks you through what he sees, in plain words, with the images up on the screen so you can see it too.
Your plan, your estimate
If anything needs doing you leave with a written plan and the cost, in order of what matters most. Nothing starts until you agree to it.
What to bring
- Your dental insurance details, or the card itself if you have one.
- A list of any medications you take, including anything over the counter.
- The name of your family doctor, and anything major in your medical history.
- For children, a parent or guardian for the first visit.
- Any recent X-rays from a previous dentist, if you can get them.
Cost, insurance and payment
We bill your insurance directly wherever the plan allows it, so you usually pay only the remainder at the desk. You see the estimate in writing before anything starts, and it is itemised so you can see what each part is for.
No insurance? We tell you the cost up front, and larger treatment can be staged over several visits so it is easier to manage. If a plan is going to take more than one appointment, we say so at the start rather than partway through.
Booking an appointment
Call 647.479.3151 during opening hours, or send the form on the contact page and the desk will get back to you to confirm a time. Tell us briefly what is going on — a check-up, a specific tooth, or something that hurts — and we will book the right amount of time.
If something hurts today, call rather than emailing. Dental emergencies are seen as quickly as we can fit them in, insured or not.
Questions people ask
How long does a first visit take?
Usually about an hour. If you want a cleaning at the same visit, say so when you book and we will set aside the time.
Do you take my insurance?
We bill most Ontario plans directly, so you normally pay only the part your plan does not cover. Bring your details and we will check before anything starts.
What if I have no insurance?
You are still welcome. We tell you the cost up front and in writing, and we can spread treatment over several visits so it is easier to manage.
I have not been to a dentist in years.
That is common and it is not a problem. There is no lecture. We look at where things stand, deal with anything urgent first, and work through the rest at a pace you choose.
Can the whole family book together?
Yes. Ask the front desk for back-to-back appointments and we will do our best to line them up.
